Modern Miracles

It's interesting to me how the word 'modern' is used all the time now. Modern nails, modern decor, modern parenting are just new ways of describing the everyday things that are apart of our world. I guess that's why I LOVED the term modern miracles when I heard it. I found myself lost in these 2 simple words. Whether you're religious or not at some point in your life you've had something happen to you that's unexplainable. Whether its adopting a child after years of heartache, or having a love you once lost come back to you or maybe its as simple as having someone buy you lunch when your bank account is empty...miracles! I experienced a small, minor miracle this week. The best part about it was my Jesus was taking care of the little details in my life. As women, we can get so wrapped up with details, fears, doubts the list goes on and on. However, He promised to be faithful in the little. In the past month, I've heard of many BIG miracles taking place all around me. It's exciting!! I want to be apart of these "modern miracles" because I want supernatural things to happen in my life in new ways everyday!

The tale of the littlest dragon...

Little dragon had heard for years the enchanting tales of a sweet treasure that appeared on October 31st. For years he had been searching but would always come home disappointed but determined to continue this great adventure!
Something was different this year. The little dragon woke up with a great excitement to begin his hunt! Suddenly, the beautiful Princess lady bug appeared. She was bursting to tell the littlest dragon all she had seen. The treasure did exist!!!
Little dragon thanked Princess lady bug and quickly continued on his adventure. It was not long before he found his friends Bella ballerina and lovely rabbit. Little dragon was so excited to tell them that the treasure was out there. Lovely rabbit decided to join little dragon in search of the great treasure.
Lovely rabbit was quiet as they walked. Little dragon handed her a big red compass so they wouldn't get lost.
"Little dragon, I have to show you something" said lovely rabbit. The littlest dragon could not believe his eyes when she pulled out of her pocket a piece of the treasure. Lovely rabbit quickly told him that he had to find laughing lion. Laughing lion was the wisest and bravest lion in all the land. He would know where to find the treasure.
When little dragon finally found laughing lion he immediately saw the piece of treasure in his hand!
Laughing lion was so excited to see his friend. He had found the treasure already and told little dragon to head north towards the mountains. The littlest dragon was jumping up and down! After all these years of searching he would finally taste the sweet goodness.
So the littlest dragon headed North...
It was a long journey through the magical pumpkin patch...but wait what was that in the distance...could it be?
Yes! It was the treasure!! The laughing lion was right it was just where he said it would be!
The littlest dragon quickly gathered up his treasure. He had travelled far but with the help of his friends he had finally found what he had been looking for.
The End

Menno Nite!

One of the things I love most about being a 'Bennett' is the great importance the put on traditions. I grew up in a family that is BIG on traditions. Still to this day our whole family has an apple pie making day, goes to Palm Springs in the spring and always watches White Christmas during the holidays a few times. When I married into this family I was a bit nervous that they'd think I was a bit over the top with my constant desire to continue these traditions and create new ones. Thank the Lord they were game for everything!

My Mother in law is an incredible cook! She is queen of whipping up an amazing meal with whatever is in her fridge. I myself spend hours researching recipes, then go to the market to buy all my ingredients. Then drag myself home to prepare dinner which NEVER looks like the picture and usually takes double the amount of time Martha said it would. :) Discovering my inner 'stay at home mom' has been an adventure this year! Making home made bread, cards and curtains does not come naturally to this woman but I truly am enjoying this new challenge. That all said, I'm blessed to have a mother and mother in law that are experts in these fields.
One of the great Bennett traditions is making home made perogies. It's a lot of work but boy is it worth it! I understand why the Mennonite women love getting together to partake in this timeless tradition! The conversation is easy and the laughter is plentiful!!! We had an amazing time together and the perogies were so yummy.

Farmer sausage is the perfect side dish!

I think Chase at 2 or 3 himself!!! He loved them!

These two were so cute in their purple outfits I just had to add this picture! I love spending time with them...I always learn so much. Billy sure has passed down some interesting traits to these boys.

A new adventure!

I've always found it interesting reading my friends blogs. I had no idea how to put one together so I started researching it this morning and now I have a blog! It was much easier than I thought it would be. :) I will be the worlds worst blogger because I won't post things daily. However, for all our friends who live around the world this is just another way to stay connected. Stay tuned...
